The Eucharist is the source and submit of the Christian life (CCC 1324 – 1327). Consequently, this ministry puts all Eucharistic ministers (and in our context extraordinary) at the center of the Church’s life. Eucharistic ministers assist the priest celebrant in serving the meal (that is, serving the sacred specie of bread and wine where applicable) to the worshiping community.
This ministry needs utmost preparation and diligence. All those who have received the Sacraments of Initiation (that is, Baptism, confirmation and Holy Eucharist), have reached a reasonable age of maturity and are properly trained can take up this ministry in our parish. Profound love for the Eucharist is very necessary in all who want to be extraordinary Eucharist ministers.
